Financial services communications specialist PritchittBland Communications (PB Comms) has appointed Joe Wilkie as senior account manager. His appointment brings the PB Comms team to eight – including two contracted specialist content writers.
Mr Wilkie is based in Melbourne and will work with the business’s principals and the broader team to advise new and existing clients for PB Comms.
Mr Wilkie joins PB Comms from BlueChip Communication where he was senior consultant to a range of global and domestic financial services clients, including asset managers, private equity, superannuation and insurance companies. He also led c-suite media training programs and acted as a specialist crisis communications manager within the firm.
Prior to this, he was a senior media adviser to the Victorian Opposition Leader, experiencing the on-the-road, 24/7 demands of an election campaign. As an adviser to both leadership and shadow cabinet, Mr Wilkie played a key role in shaping multi-faceted media strategies during parliamentary sittings and election periods.
He has also worked in both television and print newsrooms as a reporter.
Ms Bland said that Mr Wilkie’s previous experience in public relations, journalism and politics would be an asset to the PB Comms team.
“Having worked in the engine rooms of financial PR, journalism and politics, Joe comes to us with strong connections and a demonstrated understanding of the media industry.
“His experience in journalism, media relations, corporate communications, and crisis management will add to the depth and breadth of our service offering.
“Joe’s proven track record and strong industry network both in Victoria and nationally will be an asset to the PB Comms team.”
Mr Wilkie has a Bachelor of Media and Communication majoring in journalism from La Trobe University, Melbourne. He commenced with PB Comms on Monday 1 April.
